AMENDMENT 2008-1TO ITPE HEALTH & WELFARE SUMMARY PLAN DESCRIPTION
WHEREAS, the Trustees of the Health & Welfare Fund have always interpreted that portion of the Summary Plan Description of the ITPE Health & Welfare Plan dealing with "Employee Benefits for Non-Occupational Accidental Death and Dismemberment" to preclude the payment of accidental death benefits when the death results from suicide; and
WHEREAS, this Amendment to the Summary Plan Description of the ITPE Health & Welfare Plan is not intended to change any prior interpretation or administration of the Accidental Death Benefit, but merely to clarify the language of same;
NOW, THEREFORE, effective April 1, 2008, that portion of the Summary Plan Description for the ITPE Health & Welfare Plan dealing with "Losses Not Covered" under the heading "Employee Benefits for Non-Occupational Accidental Death and Dismemberment" shall be amended by revising subparagraph (a) to read as follows:
"a. Suicide or Self-Inflicted Injuries."
